In this two part digital marketing workshop Paul Kortman will explain the basis of a holistic digital marketing strategy for a startup (focused on growth of users/sales). This strategy overview will give insights into how to look for actionable data in Google Analytics, How to know what to test in Conversion Optimization, and what pitfalls to avoid in social media marketing. After the strategy overview the class will work through each of the attendees strategies, review KPIs and each attendee should leave with a todo list how how to better increase their Digital Marketing Strategy.



Paul Kortman has been involved in the Michigan startup community for over 2 years and is  a co-founder of ThingShare, a StartGarden funded company. Paul was a systems administrator for 10 years. He made the switch to digital marketing 6 years ago and has found success in bringing a fact driven technological prospective to a marketing technique often thought of as a soft-science. Paul focuses on data driven activities in the realm of Search engine marketing (SEO/PPC), Social Media, Email Marketing, and Conversion Optimization.
