Ntewani

Eclectic fashion brand sourcing fabrics worldwide, then designing custom collections for US women.

What's the big idea?

Our vision is a global online retail business supported by one to two brick and mortar shops. We’ll curate the best women’s fashion from cultures around the globe. We’re beginning with unique fabric and accessories from Ghana. Our accessories are one-of-a-kind handmade pieces. Our goal is to travel the street markets, craft villages, and small artisan shops of the world to find the unique flavor of a place and bring it home to Western culture. We want to bring a wider awareness of world fashion while supporting female artisans here and abroad.

Describe the nearest player in your field.

Traditionally in the US, cultural fabrics/accessories are only used for special occasions such as weddings and funerals, predominately seen in the African and Indian cultures. Our nearest competitors are local seamstresses and shops that cater to specific cultures.

How are you different from that player?

Our concept brings wearing handmade, custom tailored garments in traditional fabrics for EVERYDAY wear to US women. Our contemporary designs give broad appeal to women both in and outside the specific culture. We curate fabrics and our customization options give customers looks no one else has.

How's the world different with your idea in it?

We inspire all women - vendors, artisans, customers - to be strong/beautiful. We support US seamstresses, female artisans/business owners globally. We donate a percentage of sales to supporting women causes. Our customers feel good about themselves -they look great while supporting a greater good.
