Super Happy Funtime
What's the big idea?
We need outside money to keep our business growing, there is not enough profit. We earn money to perform on stage by playing on the stage. Its like we’re a grocery store that can only grow the exact number of groceries that people request when they enter the door. We need to fill our store with product: Merchandising, online content, Television content, recorded media, print: we need to grow into a business that makes money OFF the stage as well as on.
Describe the nearest player in your field.
Broadway. Song and dance on stage with glossy production, big marketing budget, giant staff from trainers to talent to management to merchandisers, and only able to tour the biggest rooms that can support their bloated productions.
How are you different from that player?
Small, local, yet touring nationally and selling out rooms at a comparable ticket price. We can play any size room and play more cities than touring broadway shows do. All content is self created/produced/managed/promoted. No staff, no overhead, way less expenses.
How's the world different with your idea in it?
Creatively, we satirize taboo subjects and allow the audience to breathe a collective sigh of relief and learn to laugh at themselves. Professionally we are showing the impossible can be done, living on the road with an 18 member show, doing a show the way we want to, and making money from it.
Why are you the one to run with this idea?
We have the track record to prove it. We’ve turned this show from a loose event in the back of bars into a touring show that sells out 400 seat rooms at a $20 ticket. Our potential stretches to merchandising, Television, film, internet, music, live appearances, and more.
