What's the big idea?
the remote is a new idea that willl get rid of remotes forever. how? the remote will be a sound activated DVR system, that allows you to change channels with your voice. for example, your favorite tv show just went off, and a movie you like just came on. you lost your remote! No problem. Just simply say, change to channel 10. When the DVR recognises your request, it willchange the channel. amazing!
Describe the nearest player in your field.
none come close to this, other than DVR makers.
How are you different from that player?
We take the current DVR and make it truly amazing. We want to stop saying, “find the remote.” we want to not just make another DVR, we want to rush in a new era of tv technology.
How's the world different with your idea in it?
A tv remote will no longer exist! we will always watch our tvs with ease and comfort.
Why are you the one to run with this idea?
because i am tired of saying, “find the remote .” when i watch tv, i want to watch it when i want to, not when i find the remote .

I like the idea, but can’t tell from your post what you will do. Is this a physical product? Software? How will it interface with what we all have in our homes now?

John,
The Remote is more of a physical product than digital. And to answer your question, this idea takes the physical remote and turns it into your voice. This is simply another “lead generation” idea, which means that it will change the course of inventions and advances in this area, and this will make tv watching much easier. This idea connects with current home technology, such as 3-D tvs.

great idea…i understand that you can just call out a channel but how would you get to the channel guide to find out what’s on each channel?
Josh SumYoung
Todd,
This system will work similar to current DVR systems, just 1 thing-no remotes. Imagine your current DVR, just the remote is your voice. That is what I am going for.

Looks like there are some heavyweights in the space already. Unless your idea is different, which would be exciting, but please explain.

Brian,
That is similar to my idea! I’m sorry I didn’t see that. thanks so much!

“the remote is your voice”........umm…don’t you mean this is a voice recognition system for your TV?
Voice recognition has been available on computers for years. It is built in to the operating systems. The reason that people don’t open applications and control their computers by voice commends is ...they reall don’t WANT to have to talk to their computers. It looks really cool when they do it on star trek, but if they really had to control their computers like that it would be chaotic.
I don’t think that people really want to talk to their TVs either.
“TV view playboy channel listings….”
“honey, what are you watching in there?”
“nothing dear, just watching CSI….go to sleep”
