The Sand Sifter

The Sand Sifter is a yard tool, like a rake or hoe that aids a homeowner with cleaning beach sand.

What's the big idea?

The Sand Sifter is a yard tool that removes debris like stones, cigarette butts, twigs, broken glass, nails, plastic or other items from beach sand.  You use it like a rake, slowly dragging it along the sand.  Based on how you use it, the Sand Sifter can sift sand from one to three inches deep at a time.  It is ideal for cottages or homes on a lake or any place you have sand in your yard.  A homeowner can clean an area the size of a volley ball court in as little as 30 minutes or 50 feet of beach frontage in less than an hour.

Describe the nearest player in your field.

Most devises are large Zamboni type machines that clean large segments of beach at a time.  The sand sifter is a hand held device for the homeowner and fits in the garage like a rake or shovel.  The Sand Sifter can be used also in conjunction with a machine cleaning devise to touch up missed spots

How are you different from that player?

This is a hand held device that has uniquely placed hinges and angles to sift just the right amount of sand and empty any debris picked up.  It can hang in the garage or fit in the back of your truck, and the cost would be in line with other yard tools.

How's the world different with your idea in it?

The community is cleaner and safer.  The Sand Sifter removes harmful glass, unsightly cigarette butts, stones, rusty nails and metal or bacteria holding plastic from your water frontage, volleyball courts and/or sand boxes.

Why are you the one to run with this idea?

It is my design.  I have had several models of the Sand Sifter over the years and have used it on my own property.  I want to bring this idea to market and formalize the patent rights pending.
