www.jobbidding.com

People post any task or service they need done and trusted service providers bid on the site for it. jobbidding.com

What's the big idea?

Our site was designed to connect people with trusted Jobbidders that can do the job or service they need done.  You don’t have to search through Google and parse through lists of local businesses and call each individually to get estimates any more.  You post your job or task on the site and businesses come to you, through real time business notifications, bidding and 1to1 chat.  It also provides a way for local people with skilled services or just odd-jobbers to find business leads and make quick money.  The site can be monetized in many ways, like advertising and upgraded subscription fees.

Describe the nearest player in your field.

A few other players such as Taskrabbit.com, Thumbtack.com, and Bidslist.com entered this new market in the last two years.  They focus on finding people to help with daily tasks, such as grocery shopping or delivering something.  They also don’t have a strong presence in Michigan.

How are you different from that player?

We are a Metro Detroit based company that not only connects people to accomplish small tasks, but also focuses on skilled labor jobs such as plumbing or auto repair.  Furthermore, we have anonymous auction bidding style for JobBidders that they don’t have, which is essential for some businesses.

How does this idea scale into a big business?

Job leads are a valuable commodity for businesses.  We may monetize from them through subscription fees or per-lead charges &  tasteful advertising by bidders.  We currently make a % off money transactions made through the site.  The online person to business networking market has global potential

Why are you the one to run with this idea?

We put over $6,000 of our money and 1000+hrs to bring this idea to life.  We KNOW this site & idea has so much potential.  We’re committed to making this idea successful & profitable. It’s clear to see by some of our competition’s success that this idea is viable.

What is a $5,000 experiment you can do to move your idea forward?

We would invest the $5,000 into growing the company through advertising and marketing.  We currently are growing a partnership with a commercial producer and Comcast executives for TV ads.  We’ve already had some radio ads on 96.3 WDVD and plan to expand through other means of advertising as well.

I hate to be a NEE say-er, however there is an old adage that you get what you pay for.  There is a reason that military equipment is always falling apart.  They have companies bid on the job and lowest bidder wins.  When you are only making a small dollar amount to perform a task generally an individual doesn’t put a whole lot of effort into it.

I believe this is a good idea, it just needs some momentum.

I believe that this company can help me with getting reliable and trustworthy companies to do jobs that I need done around my house.  Since they say that they will prescreen the companies for trustworthiness.  This will save me from being taken advantage of.
