What's the big idea?
Using foldable electric scooters and bicycles, we show up when and where you need and we drive you home in your own car. Getting a little too tipsy at the bar? Call “Your Chauffeur”. Need a ride home from an impromptu doctors visit? Call “Your Chauffeur”. Have a special event where many guests may need to transfer themselves and their cars a short distance after a night of socializing? Call “Your Chauffer” to be on call for the entire event.
Describe the nearest player in your field.
Grand Rapids Taxi Services. These are somewhat plentiful and easy to catch on the weekend. Cost is roughly 15 - 30$ depending on how far you are going in the greater Grand Rapids area.
How are you different from that player?
Our service specializes on getting people home safely with their own vehicle.
We hope to cater to this niche market of people who are being “Just Irresponsible Enough” (Tag-line for people out having fun).
We’re the service that’s “Just Responsible Enough”. (Possible Tag-line for our service)
How does this idea scale into a big business?
Every city will have it’s own intangibles, but if we can refine the business model to operate efficiently here in Grand Rapids, it should be replicable in other mid to large sized cities and college towns.
Why are you the one to run with this idea?
I have been thinking about this idea for a year and have invested the time and energy into finding the proper equipment, purchasing what I can along the way. I have video & web skills to cheaply get my media presence off the ground. That and I love being on a moped. Would love to make this a job.
What is a $5,000 experiment you can do to move your idea forward?
I already invested in one Di Blasi fold-able motor scooter, but to offer consistent, reliable service to generate repeat customers and a fine reputation, having more bikes and people on call is key. I would also use the money to figure out liability issues and purchase necessary insurance.
