The idea to give Detroit a MAJOR tourist attraction.

What's the big idea?

Motown is a new theme park proposed in Michigan that will attract tourists, especially music lovers. Motown’s goal is to promote what made Detroit famous, music. We want to include 100% local work team, from planning, to construction, to operating the park daily. that park will be located as close to the metro-Detroit area as possible, since we are planning or the park to be at most 300 acres. You are probably asking, how can a theme park be started with only $5,000? We will use it to promote the idea, and try to get both private companies, and we also want to do crowd-funding.

Describe the nearest player in your field.

The nearest player would be local tourist attractions like museums that promote Detroit’s so-called “roots.” Another player would be amusement parks already in Michigan(there is only 1!), such as Michigan’s Adventure. Museums promote the city’s history, and amusement parks are there for fun.

How are you different from that player?

We take a museum and a theme park and combine it into 1! Michigan’s Adventure is doing financially well, as well are the museums, and combining those into 1 is a money bomb! We just simply want to do good for the local and national economy.

How's the world different with your idea in it?

Well, to begin, there will be another theme park in Michigan! Detroit will once again have another tourist attraction, and local families and businesses will boom in business because of us.

Why are you the one to run with this idea?

Because I realize that since Michigan has so much empty and undeveloped land, and that the unemployment rates are so high, It is about time that we turn all of that around. It starts with one person with the idea, then many others that will accept it. Soon, Michigan will be at it’s peak.

I think this is a great idea.  You didn’t give a great answer as to “Why are you the one to run with this idea?”.  Do you have any connections in the industry?  Any experience with tourist attractions?  I would want to see it more music based and less like a park with a bunch of roller coasters and rides.

Thanks for your support! unfortunately, I have no connections with anyone in this field, and this is currently a “grass roots” type of project. I will keep your thoughts in mind! thanks again!

I’m with Phil. As while as this needs to be in Detroit, period. Detroit started it and that is the only place for it. Plus you are stepping on copywrites of the original Motown Museum here in Detroit. For this to be a tourist spot, it must be in Detroit and around the area of the museum. There is ALOT of vacant land up for purchase around the museum for your park. Plus it will not be too far from the new development of homes with streets name after great Motown artist. So you need to check out this industry and what the city of Detroit offers and has when it comes to Motown, also just out our Hard Rock Cafe, there is a tribute to Motown. Thank You but so far you have showed a great ideal but you are not prepared popularly nor ready to run this to the point of it being successful.
