What's the big idea?
SGF cultivates a rewarding & exciting environment for college students to become motivated to exercise. SGF allows students to track their workouts, earn virtual & tangible prizes for exercising & have the opportunity to interact with our sponsors to gain more chances to earn rewards.
SGF uses a virtual level progression system & extrinsic incentives afforded by our sponsors to add short-term, social & tangible incentives to the long-term incentive of being in shape & healthy. We are the link that allows the business sector to assist in the development of these healthy lifestyle patterns.

GymPact: Users pledge their own money towards meeting their fitness goals. If you miss your goals, you lose your money. If you hit them, you receive a small amount.
Daily Break: They offer procrastination challenges. You fill out a survey & you get a chance to win a prize.
How are you different from that player?
Differences from GymPact: We’re focused solely on the college demo in Phase I. It’s free to enter & we only use positive incentives in the form of virtual & tangible prizes.
Differences from Daily Break: We’re health-based & we offer on campus advertising opportunities to our sponsors.
How does this idea scale into a big business?
Phase I is focused on the 19.1 million college students at over 4,000 colleges in the USA. Our combination of on campus & online advertising makes us stand out from the crowd. Phase II will open SGF up to anyone over 18 exercising at a majority of the fitness centers in the country.
Why are you the one to run with this idea?
We started this business 2.5 years ago & we’ve worked out many of the kinks in the business model. Our team is in place, we’ve ran challenges during the past two years & we’re ready to launch nationally in the spring. This isn’t a hobby or a “wouldn’t it be cool?” concept, it’s our full-time gig.
What is a $5,000 experiment you can do to move your idea forward?
These funds will assist us in the completion of our revised website & database. We will have a soft launch this spring & our full launch will be at the beginning of the fall semester in 2013.
